PEACE QUEEN CUP The Peace Queen Cup gathers the best female national teams in the world in a competition on a par with the Olympic Games or the World Cup. From the outset participating teams expressed their desire to return for the next tournament and some for their country to be considered as a host location. Going beyond football, the last Peace Queen Cup (Suwon 2008) included the “International Conference on Physical Education and Sports for Women”, to promote female sports in Asia. And to add some colour to the picture, the footballers replaced the studs for highheels to parade Andre Kim’s designs in front of an audience of 6,000 people. Greg Ryan, USA head coach Above all, I’m happy to be the winner of the first Peace Queen Cup. Apart from the World Cup, I believe it to be the best female football competition. I want to show my gratitude to the organising body for their great work and the great care shown to all the teams, and I hope to participate in the next edition. Christine Mary Lilly, USA team, 2006 PQC MVP It was great that the world’s best teams came for the Peace Queen Cup. I would like to thank the many football fans who showed their support and interest. 14 Professional Football
